Mind Your Own Business
The time is now, my fellow people. Some of you are content where you are; saving up for that "great" retirement at the end of a 40+ year career. For those that are content, your retirement isn't guaranteed. If you have your funds in a 401K and some CDs and think that it will be enough to fund your retirement, you're in for a very big surprise. Others see that there's a big problem in this world that revolves around finances; if you're lucky, you see it early and can start making moves to do something about it. It's never been a better time to be an entrepreneur and trust me, being an entrepreneur isn't just about owning and operating a business. We are all entrepreneurs, whether we like it or not. We are entrepreneurs of ourselves, our assets and liabilities, our debts, our income, even our health and relationships. The time to understand that is now, if you ever want to fix your life. If you're not yet sold on how much truth there is to the last paragraph, allow me to open your eyes further by having you consider the near future with some simple facts. Donald Trump won the presidential election. Donald Trump is an entrepreneur that favors other entrepreneurs. So let me ask you, what do you think the next 4 years or more are going to look like for those of you that are locked into the idea that your 9-5 is going to end well for you? It won't end well, that I am certain about. With that said, now is not the time to get discouraged or get angry. It has never been a better time to learn how money works and have it work for you, instead of you working for it. I'm not saying quit your job, or pull out your retirement funds. On the contrary, you should continue to do those things, but you also need to consider what other options you have to grow your assets.
If you're young, please understand this. You have a perfect opportunity to learn now and be completely financially free before you even hit your 30's. If you're not so young, then after you read this, you need to start your financial education immediately, before it's too late. If you're older, you need to encourage the young to understand exactly what I'm talking about. I don't have anything against the elderly. In fact, I'm a firm believer that a lot of the reason why we're so financially dumb is because we stopped listening to them. However, older people are already committed to a plan and are hopefully capitalizing on the fruits of that plan soon, if not already. With that said, even though you're retiring, you still have a social obligation to educate our youth. Enjoy your retirement, but pay knowledge forward as you go.
I hope that those that read this will open your eyes. If you're really serious about ending the poor or middle-class trap, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Maybe you have a financial question or maybe you just have no idea where to start. I can help guide you in the right direction so you can get out of the cycle of being under-paid, unhealthy, and under-appreciated. Believe me folks, you will always be stuck in that cycle if you don't acknowledge that you're in it, learn what it is and how to get out of it, and start taking action to find your true freedom. We're only as free as our funds allow us to be.
